End of Summer update

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am going forward with my five-album solo piano project.  I'm happy to announce that I have received the Canada Council Digital Originals grant to help distribute my music online.  As of this writing, physical copies of the first album are being finalized, paperwork is being filed for the second one, both of which are available on streaming services already.  The third album is in the final mastering stages, the fourth is ready for me to record and the songs for the fifth are set for me to practice next.  I'm amazed how it worked out, and I'm really happy with everything so far.  The book of music is also in late stages, with drafts of everything being sent around to proofreaders.

I also had a wonderful time last night playing at the Steinway Gallery, it was a real treat to play for a live audience and on an incredibly responsive and subtle instrument.

I'm also starting teaching and accompanying again but very cautiously, in venues and studios I'm already familiar with and whose safety precautions I trust completely.  It still isn't enough to pay the bills, but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  Thanks everyone who supported me in whatever ways you could during this challenging time.

I've been keeping track of some great content I've checked out this past month - my recommendations right now are the latest season of Malcolm Gladwell's podcast Revionist History, Return to Forever's album Hymn Of The Seventh Galaxy and quirky indie video game "There Is No Game".
